49 Winter 2018 theMACreport Tom Rist OSU 12 married Janelle Velkoff on Sept 16 Conner Chambers 13 is a component engineer at Cisco Systems in San Jose California Kody Kathman 17 is an IT associate business quality analyst at Ohio National Financial Services in Cincinnati Heinka Peterson 87 is an account executive at NAVEX Global in Lake Oswego Sherisa Davis Larry 10 is a labor relations data and information analyst at Oregon School Boards Association in Salem Maddisson Alexander Hawk 14 is a pursuing a law degree at the University of Washington She is a Rule 9 intern at King County Department of Public Defense in Seattle Oregon Matt Crocker Ore 11 married Jenna Eickmeier on Sept 1 Dick Stadel 75 wrote recently Jill and I are official snowbirds now We purchased a single wide trailer in a 55 plus community east of Phoenix Both of our sons have been living in the Phoenix area for over 10 years We have spent the last three winters out there Tom Jewell 79 wrote in December I retired from public education five years ago after 33 years 25 as a teacher and eight as a principal I am currently an educational consultant at a medical intake facility for adolescent girls with eating disorders I am also doing a one year stint at Anderson High School as an algebra teacher My wife serves as a dean at that same high school Im still going to the gym running and golfing Our three children are pursuing their careers We have two great grandsons Kurt Wampach 03 married Alicia Muzzy on June 4 2016 Ben Hosinski 08 is engaged to Alicia Herb Purdue Julie and Bob Fitzgerald Pur 95 welcomed son Andrew Joseph on June 23 He joins Emily and Kate Erin Indovina Nasralla 08 is director philanthropic experiences at Childrens Hospital Colorado Foundation in Denver Kyle Lindenman 12 is a VPI technical project leader Emission Solutions Business at Cummins Inc in Columbus Indiana He married Eloise Weir on Oct 21 Retired from the U S Air Force EVANS SCHOLARS MAILBOX Dan Weis Wis 62 wrote recently I retired from the United States Air Force in 1983 as a lieutenant colonel I then embarked on a new career working for various aerospace companies in the Washington D C area I continued flying on aircraft in various capacities after various communication systems modifications I grounded myself in 2004 However I continued working In 2014 I called it quits and attempted to retire However I was called back to work twice as help was needed in nuclear surety Mae and I will be celebrating 53 years of marriage We took a trip to Hawaii this past spring We went aboard the USS Arizona again for the 75 year anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor Mae and I have wonderful memories of our time in Hawaii in the 70s during the Vietnam War and of those I served with while flying all over the Pacific I read with great interest the Evans Scholars news I often say that the years that I worked at Indian Hill Club as a caddie taught me respect for others proper manners how to address adults job performance and understanding what hard work was about Steve Bye 73 wrote in December I retired in 2017 following a 34 year career as senior managing director and Wisconsin Tudor Bertea 14 is an architectural designer at Ankrom Moisan Architects in San Francisco executive VP of NorthMarq Capital Other than golf my passion now is writing I plan to self publish my first novel in the next few months Karen and I have been married for 43 years and all four of our kids are married We have been blessed with nine grandchildren I am very grateful for the education provided through the Evans Scholars Program I have participated in many of the ES activities including playing in the 2014 BMW Championship Pro Am I regularly take a caddie and promote the tremendous opportunities that the Evans Scholars Program offers
