to college to career providing the best opportunities possible for a lifetime of future success said WGA President and CEO John Kaczkowski By this spring a record 275 new caddies will be awarded an Evans Scholarship to one of 19 leading universities nationwide Upgrades and renovations are planned for Evans Scholars chapters at universities including Missouri Purdue Oregon and Michigan State Wisconsin Scholars will see a brand new home built at the site of their current property which is being demolished The new House will open in 2019 Leaders also are exploring community living options for students at Kansas and Penn State and this fall Scholars at Washington will move into their first Scholarship House P U R D U E Chapter celebrates 50th The Purdue chapter celebrated its 50th anniversary in October which included Scholar led House tours for Alumni and supporters and a formal dinner in a football stadium skybox Chapter advisor Leslie Charters and Tim McVady president of the chapter Alumni Association both spoke at the event Scholar president David Smith touched on chapter successes including achieving a 33 GPA students earning prestigious internships and jobs and successful philanthropic events Overall the celebration was a huge success and everyone had a great time said Scholar Biridiana Guerrero 2 0 1 7 H I G H L I G H T S Record year Among 2017 s biggest giving successes Future legacy ESF leaders worked to set the stage for a future comprehensive fundraising campaign which will be the biggest in the organizations history Transformative in its approach the all encompassing effort will help the ESF secure a lasting legacy for its students and programs Annual giving More than 32000 Par Club donors nationwide including Evans Scholars Alumni continued to give at record rates The success of the major gifts campaign in particular has allowed leaders to set new organizational goals Special giving The ESF saw a record number of donors making Endowed Named Scholarship gifts which allows for a personal relationship between a student and a supporter There was also an increase in gifts received from foundations and corporations as the organization continues to explore new giving opportunities to support scholarships Program efficiency ESF leaders make it a priority to stay highly efficient and responsible with their dollars nonprofit watchdog Charity Navigator has given the ESF a fourstar rating for efficiency the highest rating possible Want to help Visit www wgaesf org mpc or contact Bill Kingore at 224 260 3712 or kingore@ wgaesf org 27 Winter 2018
